CATHY

I first started practicing yoga in the late 1990’s at the Petaluma Valley Athletic Club, in Petaluma, California and I fell in love with it! I have traveled the county and experienced many different practices and teachers.

I settled in the Valley in 2011 and started attending yoga classes at the Sun City Hatha Yoga Club to relieve the stress of working as a litigation paralegal.

I realized that I wanted a change in my life and I decided to become a yoga teacher. Carlyn, Tracy, Kathryn, Monica, and Donna were my inspirations. I completed my yoga certification at Desert Song Studio and it was one of the best experiences of my life! I teach yoga at several locations throughout the valley and I love every minute of it!

I am honored and grateful to have the opportunity to teach at the Sun City Hatha Yoga Club.

KATHRYN

My yogic journey began some years ago and I am absolutely amazed at the scope of study available to anyone who has the desire to delve into yoga. There’s so much to learn and do and explore! Oh, the potential!! Currently a 500RYT, Yoga Nidra certified facilitator and Reiki II provider, I continue to study.  My teaching style tends to be more organic, with slow measure and intentional movement. This way one can learn to lessen the effort and rest in grace. This is what is meant by effortless effort; a goal of the physical asana practice which cultivates a steadiness and ease that transcends the mat and subtly becomes a part of day to day life.

I love the treasure hunt(!) as so many other disciplines and healing modalities have dropped into my life and have become a part of my own practice. The desire to learn and share keeps me motivated and I am loving and appreciating the privilege to teach and do one-on-one healing work with clients even more.  Let’s explore this journey together! I joyfully invite you to play with your findings through the yogic practices asana, private work, or even (yogic) sleep! There’s much to do, and wonder awaits! I hope to see you on the mat soon! Namaste Sarve (the light within salutes the light in All). Love, Kathryn xo

I am a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher who first began practicing yoga over 23 years ago. Having come from a background in ballet and being a lifelong learner of esoteric healing modalities, yoga was a calling that has helped heal my body and brought positive shifts in my life experience. I am passionate about encouraging and supporting people along their life journeys through the practice of yoga. My classes will guide you toward relaxation, flexibility, and awakened awareness in your body through breath, movement, and guided imagery. Yoga is for Every Body! Namaste

MARCI

My love for yoga began in 2008.  I was encouraged by a friend to come and try a class and from that day forward I have never looked back!  I instantly felt something different….a connection that encompassed by entire being body, mind and spirit all working together in harmony.  I decided to take my love for yoga to the next level and completed my 200 hour teacher training through Yoga Works under Malachi Melville.  I have also completed my Yoga Nidra Facilitator training with Eric Walrabenstein and Kamini Desai.  I am currently studying Polarity and Cranial Sacral Therapy at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts and have completed the first half of my studies in 2013. I will continue to study in the advanced portions of these energy modalities.

I currently teach in various studios and hospitals throughout the valley and offer private lessons to work more intimately with my students.  I also bring my love of yoga to women who are battling breast cancer and to other cancer patients as well.  I use breath and body awareness to help patients and students navigate through their physical, mental and energetic bodies on a day- to- day bases learning to help students love and accept themselves just as they are.

I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to share my love of yoga and meditation with my students and I hope they too can experience all that yoga has to offer.

NIMET

My yoga journey began humbly in 1975, in a middle school wrestling room of all places! Though I was too young to understand what yoga was all about it certainly caught my attention. In my teens I practiced using the book Richard Hittleman’s Yoga: 28 Day Exercise Plan and by watching Lilias Folan on PBS. I dropped the practice as a young adult to pursue other athletic endeavors but discovered “power” yoga in the mid 90’s and began my formal training and teaching. I received my first 200hr certification through YogaFit and since moving to Phoenix completed another 200hr certification and two 500hr certifications through Holy Yoga. I will always be a student of this amazing practice!

Yoga is so many things to me and it’s what I like to share with others. It’s a fun, athletic practice that helps keep us strong, that gives us confidence to be willing to try new things. Yoga teaches us balance; how to move in harmony with our body’s energies, not overdoing but finding spaciousness and ease on and off the mat. Yoga is also a spiritual practice. It helps bring order and mindfulness to our sometimes scattered lives. Yoga, much like meditation, prayer, and fasting, can ground us and connect us to God and others in deeper, more meaningful ways.

I so enjoy leading classes at the Hatha Yoga Club! A beautiful studio, a wonderful staff and committed students who find joy in moving and breathing and living life to the fullest!
